Another week of progress has seen Simons ‘60 bus near completion, hoping to go on its first test drive on Monday! Semaphores weren’t working on Toby’s Beetle - we found wiring issues as well as integral issues with the semaphores! The underside and Inside of the EType Jaguar are now in paint - hoping to see the outside in colour next week! We delivered Simon and Clare’s 68 Bay after resto, Simon now has the task of finishing the rebuild. The 911S Targa is now in first prime too! We also squeezed in some time to do some welding on the orange 911! Another milestone hit this week....Kennys 59 lowlight Ghia went into first prime! Dry build next and off to @vintage_volkshaus for a custom exhaust! The S1 E type has now been checked after first prime and will be headed for second prime next week! The ‘75 Porsche 911 Targa is now in the prep room with the E type ready for shaping up. The ‘83 Porsche 911 is now back from blasting, in epoxy and loaded on the Celette bench ready for metalwork to commence. Both floorpans have been replaced on Simons ‘68 Beetle and we’ve been replacing lots of oil seals on a very leaky bus engine. Another insanely hectic week in the ‘shop! Declan’s lovely Sea Green ‘66 Beetle in for some accident repair and this stunning early beetle was dropped off for electrics and check over. Callum worked late and got his Dads crazy MG in paint (it’s going to be rocking a V8 turbo motor!). Daves been working away on the Jaguar S1 E Type and it’s now in primer, lots of rust and horrendous metalwork found on the gorgeous Porsche 911 but it’s now headed in the right direction! Franks been busy assembling the quarter lights and doors on Syd the ‘68 bay. Phil and Tony had a busy few days fitting the headliner in Simons ‘60 splitty and we popped the windows in. Chris has been squirrelling away in the prep room finishing off the bodywork on the ‘59 Ghia (sorry no pics!) and Simons ‘68 Beetle was collected from the blasters.....and I’m sure I’ve forgotten a lot of other things that went on this week! Another super busy week in the workshop this week! S1 OTS in from Moss for full paint, it’s now sat in the prep bay along with the ‘59 Ghia. The ‘68 Bay is all painted now and you can see Dave polishing the doors before they’re hung. Porsche 911S in from Jaz for some remedial metalwork, but as is often the case the deeper you dig, the more rust and poor repairs you find. A nice ‘73 Bay popped in for some MOT work, followed by the yellow ‘78 we restored 18 months ago. Our own ‘71 Bay (Nev) found his way on to the ramp for a service. I feel terrible that I’ve not managed to service it since I built it (3 years ago) so we gave him a full check up! Finally the green ‘78 Bay was dropped off for a service today, which is a van we restored nearly 8 years ago and still looks great! Time for us to go camping! Such a busy week this week.....we’re exhausted! The stunning ‘71 Bay we restored last year came back for a service, and more progress on assembling the ‘60 Mango Splitscreen. One floorpan repaired on Kennys ‘59 lowlight Karmann Ghia, just the other side to do then run al the fuel lines/pump etc inside the tunnel! Roof and engine bay painted on the ‘68 bay. The guys have finished all the prep and sealer work on the sides now so that will be completely painted on Monday. The ‘83 Porsche 911 is now completely stripped and at the blasters, along with the ‘68 beetle. S1 Jaguar E type in for full pre and paint! And finally....the new storage unit for @hertfordshirevehiclestorage is coming along! Phew.....time for a curry!
